Sydney based, senior analyst, Steven Noble is author of Forresters Report Australian Adult Social Technographics an authority on marketing in Australia, especially as it relates to emerging tools, media and consumer behavior. In addition to his local research, he has investigated regional issues such as consumer trends in Asia-Pacific and global issues like content moderation, which can be one of the most complex and costly challenges facing anyone who creates a social application.

The theme of the third event is “Understand social personas and stop wasting money and resources”  We’re hoping for enthusiastic debate and discussion around these key strategic issues:

  • With 75% of Australian online adults now use social technologies, how can marketers and NFPs benefit from profiling?
  • Where do we find data?
  • Do Australian social technographic behaviours differ from other regions?
  • What strategies are most relevant for the different technographic profiles e.g. content creators versus spectators
  • Are there differences in the way men and women behave in social?
  • What’s an Australian case study that demonstrates a successful social persona strategy?
  • Why are peer recommendations so powerful? Is it possible for marketers to “fake” these?
  • How can companies profile where customers are and what they do?
  • Is privacy still an issue in the social web or do people enjoy companies knowing their tastes and preferences? Looking at recommendation engines like Amazon
  • Do people silo themselves and behave differently in different social networks?

Tim Burrowes from mUmbrella will be moderator and interviewer for the evening, with forum style Q & A

The event is designed for drinks & mingling before and after. The speakers start at 7.15 pm. We have a new venue for our events - look forward to seeing you there!
